You'll love the beauty and lifestyle of Summergrove! SUMMERGROVE is one of the best kept secrets in the southeastern United States. You can fully appreciate Summergrove only by seeing it in person. No description really does justice to this unique and beautiful southern community. What follows is an attempt to describe what makes it one of the best places to live -- anywhere! MASTERPLAN COMMUNITY: The Summergrove community was developed by Pathways Communities, the developer of nearby Peachtree City which is arguably the most successful masterplan community ever built. Pathways Communities began the development of Summergrove in 1999 and today there are more than 2,000 homes. The development of Summergrove will be completed in late-2007 when it reaches its final size of about 2,500 homes.LOCATION: Just 8 miles due west of Peachtree City, Summergrove is entirely within the eastern city limits of Newnan, Georgia, a charming southern town. From Summergrove, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (one of the world's largest, busiest, and most efficient airports) is a 25 minute drive north. Downtown and midtown Atlanta are a 45 minute drive. Atlanta's northern suburbs are a 50-60 minute drive. A four lane divided highway connects Summergrove to the Interstate system just 2 miles away. In Summergrove, you're far away from the congestion, crime, and problems of the big city, yet you're close enough to take advantage of Atlanta's employment opportunities, shopping, culture, and professional sports.HOMES: Summergrove homes range in price from $150,000 to $700,000 with a median price of $255,000. There is always a good inventory of new and like-new homes in Summergrove. You may check the inventory of available homes by clicking on Summergrove Homes for Sale and then entering Summergrove as the subdivision name and selecting the price range you wish to search. Summergrove also has townhouses and condos in the $150,000 to $250,000 range. You will note that home prices in Summergrove are noticeably more attractive than Atlanta's northern suburbs. More homes are pictured toward the end of this presentation.PROPERTY TAXES: A simple rule of thumb for estimating property (real estate) taxes is to multiply the purchase price by 1.2%. Thus, a home purchased for $200,000 would have annual taxes of about $2,400. Of course, senior citizens get a tax exemption.LOCAL SCHOOLS: Serving the community are two elementary schools within a mile of Summergrove, Newnan Crossing Elementary and the brand-new Welch Elementary School. Summergrove is served by the brand-new Lee Middle School and the East Coweta High School. Bus service is provided to all schools. See Coweta County Schools for further information.HEALTH CARE: Newnan boasts two regional hospitals and the Summit Healthplex, an 82,000 sq. ft. comprehensive medical center less than 2 miles from Summergrove. See Newnan Medical for further details.AESTHETIC BEAUTY: Summergrove is very pleasing to the eye. Impressive community entrances, landscaped parkways, lake, parks, golf course, and natural vegetation, all contribute to the aesthetic beauty of Summergrove. Every attempt has been made to retain trees on building sites, creating attractive green spaces between the neighborhoods. Approximately 25% of the land within Summergrove has been devoted to recreational amenities and green space, never to be built upon.
